Welcome to Channel Runner, streaming audio podcasts by runners for everyone. Welcome to the future.

This site has been created to tell you how you can tune in the 24 x 7 audio stream of running podcasts created by variety of podcast producers from around the globe.

Many thousands of running enthusiasts of varying levels of ability already enjoy the many running podcasts created by members of the online running community. Many regularly download their favourite shows to their MP3 player, mobile devices and computers to listen to at their leisure.

However, with the pervasive nature of wireless technologies, many people now find they are connected to the Internet pretty much all of the time, and perhaps don’t need to download podcasts to listen to a later time – they can stream them in real-time whenever they choose to listen to them.

As technology progresses, it is likely more and more of our content wil be consumed in this fashion.

This site has been built to take the latest running podcasts that have been posted and present them in a continuous stream that you can listen to whenever you are connected to the Internet. It’s like the old days of radio when you would tune your radio in to a  station and listen to it. But,  instead of tuning in to a radio station over the air, you ‘tune’ in to a stream over the Internet.

The stream provided by this site uses the podcasts that are listed at the RunningPodcasts.org web site. Several times each day, the feeds from each podcast listed there are checked. If new epsiodes are detected, they are added to the Channel Runner Stream. Some clever software then performs some magic and presents you, the listener, with a continuous stream of all of the latest podcasts. You don’t actually download them, as you would with podcasts, you just tune in and listen to the live stream.

The best way to understand it is to give it a try. You will be amazed how addicitive it becomes, tuning in to the stream to hear the latest shows and enjoying the opportunity to listen shows you may not otherwise get the chance to hear. Visit our ‘listening‘ section to find out how you can tune in to the stream – don’t worry, it’s not too complicated. Often it’s just a case of clicking on a link or typing in a simple URL. You can always give it a quick try using the audio player embedded at the top left of this page to get a quick demo of what you will hear.

NOTE : The content of the stream is a consolidation of content from wide range of content creators. We have no control over that content, which may contain ‘colourful’ language from time to time or discuss contentious or adult themes. We have no control over this content, so you are advised to be mindful of these warnings when using this service.
